Fish farm alliance brings benefits to the sector
Fusion Marine
has formed an alliance with Shetland company Norcage for the fabrication
and supply of fish farm cages in Scotland.
The link between
the two companies is working well, with six major installations
having been carried out at fish farm sites in mainland Scotland
and the Western Isles.
Fusion Marine
supplies the components for its various successful cage designs,
including the Oceanflex 315, while Norcage fabricates and installs
the systems.
Iain Forbes,
Fusion Marine general manager, says the alliance is benefiting the
whole industry.
"There
is a cross-fertilisation of skills between ourselves and Norcage
which means we are at the cutting edge of cage supply, installation
and after-sales service."
Graham Forrest
of Norcage said: "The arrangement works well and allows both
companies to serve the fish farming industry in Shetland and the
rest of Scotland."
Working in tandem
with each other, cage installations successfully completed include
for WISCO of the Fjord Group and Marine Harvest.
